What we do

Orison is a collection of resources which can be used in a variety of settings to inspire and enable people to engage with God. Using interactive and creative activities, Orison provides time for people to stop, think, consider, pray and reflect. It can be adapted for use in any setting including:

Churches - to gather and inspire the congregation to pray, and could be used before or as part of a mission event
Youth Groups - to encourage young people to engage with God through creative use of every day activities
Community Groups - as an evangelistic resource, creating space for people to meet with God
Schools - an opportunity for local church to engage with RE curriculum and to be a missional presence in the school
... and anywhere else! You suggest it, we'll have a go!

Can we do this in my local school?

Yes, of course! We are keen to work with local churches who have relationships with schools in their area, using Orison as another opportunity for the church to serve the school and offer resources to aid the school's teaching about Christianity. We would love to help you run an Orison week in your local school - please do use the contact page to get in touch and let us know how we can help.

You'll need the school's permission and support before planning can fully start - we can provide leaflets and material to take to the headteacher and governors to help explain what Orison is. The school will need to provide a room which will be used solely for Orison for the duration of the project, including a set-up day at the beginning (which may mean weekend access is needed)

People are also needed to help staff the zones, and explain activities to the pupils. Volunteers from local churches who are fully CRB checked, and can provide references from their church leader, will be required.

Orison is a charity, and is funded entirely by voluntary donations. We do ask that churches consider contributing towards the cost of Orison in their local schools. The resources and consumables necessary for running Orison cost around £200 per day. If you would like to contribute, or are considering supporting Orison generally, please contact us.
