Image Zone

The image zone

The image zone is a chance for pupils to consider their image and identity through a series of activities. In this space, pupils look at themselves in a mirror surrounded by positive quotes about image and beauty, watch a video which encourages them to think about the perceptions they have about people from looking at faces, and consider how they fit into their communities using paper people.

Belonging

These two large hand photographs and a verse from the bible, pupils think about belonging and being known. Writing their names on these hands is a reminder to themselves and others that God knows who they are. They belong."See, I have written your names on the palm of my hands" Isaiah 49:16

One in a million

Hundreds of tiny people help pupils visualise themselves and their peer group, thinking about issues of social interaction and considering the feelings of others within the group.

Sand Trays

Using sand trays, pupils are able to write the names they are called by their peers and wipe them away, a reminder that they don't have to accept these labels and a chance to start again. Victims of bullying have commented on how helpful they have found this activity.
